Meet Tyler

Tyler Koepf

Tyler’s singular fascination since childhood is the study of money and finance. Regardless of who you are, what you do, or where you live, it is one of our few shared experiences. Money ultimately impacts our ability to spend time with family, how we help our communities, and whether we pursue our dreams.

This passion drew Tyler to an education in Accounting, Finance, and Law followed by a successful consulting career with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Chicago before being hired by a senior executive of a client. After UnitedHealth Group (UHG) acquired the client, Tyler was moved to the global headquarters in Minnesota to work with its senior leaders. He was one of the youngest directors to complete UHG’s executive leadership program at Stanford University in addition to managing a broad portfolio of initiatives that included mergers and acquisitions, operational integrations, financial projections and modeling, and international tax issues.

In the process, Tyler learned how some of the most sophisticated companies in the world built and protected financial value in the long-term. The common characteristic each firm shared, regardless of industry, business model, or strategy, was a laser-like focus on building teams of experts dedicated to achieving the firm’s financial goals; the best leaders sought the best advisers because there was always room for improvement.

Tyler soon came to see parallels between the complex financial issues faced by senior executives he supported and his own personal financial life. While Tyler and his wife, Lisa, were equally focused on their bottom-line, they were like most families and small businesses who were left acting as their own experts, doing their own financial analysis, and, of course, being the ultimate decision-makers.

After moving back to his hometown of Chagrin Falls, Tyler sought an opportunity to use his education and experience to fill this void and make the financial lives of other families and small businesses easier. Having known Tyson from college and knowing that the V Financial Partners brand was built on helping people, it was a natural place for Tyler to start his practice.

Tyler graduated from Ohio University with a double major in Finance and Accounting. He then completed the Ohio Certified Public Accounting (CPA) exam before attending Cleveland Marshall College of Law and passing the Ohio Bar exam.

Tyler met his wife while living in Chicago and they now live together in Chagrin Falls with their son, Mason, and two dogs, Cody and Denver.
